5-Day Workshop on “Python for Artificial Intelligence”

The 5-day workshop on “Python for Artificial Intelligence” was organized by the Department of Information Technology at National Institute of Technology Srinagar from 6th October to 10th October. The workshop aimed to provide participants with fundamental and advanced knowledge of Python programming and its applications in the field of Artificial Intelligence. A total of 95 participants registered and actively attended the workshop. The program schedule was conducted systematically with a combination of theoretical lectures and practical hands-on sessions. The topics covered during the workshop included Python programming basics, data handling and visualization, machine learning libraries, Artificial Intelligence concepts, model development, and real-world AI applications. Interactive laboratory sessions and coding exercises were also conducted to enhance practical understanding among the participants. Various faculty members and experts contributed to the successful execution of the workshop by delivering lectures and guiding participants throughout the sessions.

One-Day Workshop on “Reasoning in Large Language Models (LLMs)” 

A One-Day Workshop on “Reasoning in Large Language Models (LLMs)” was conducted on 14 November 2025 with the objective of introducing participants to the latest advancements in Large Language Models and their reasoning capabilities. The workshop focused on concepts such as prompt engineering, logical reasoning in AI systems, contextual understanding, transformer-based architectures, and real-world applications of LLMs in research and industry. Interactive sessions and demonstrations were organized to provide participants with practical exposure to AI-driven conversational systems and intelligent decision-making models. The workshop enabled students, researchers, and faculty members to gain insights into the rapidly evolving field of Generative Artificial Intelligence and advanced language modeling techniques.


Two-Day Workshop on “Responsible Adoption of Emerging Technologies in Computing” 

A Two-Day Workshop on “Responsible Adoption of Emerging Technologies in Computing” was organized on 12–13 March 2026 to create awareness regarding the ethical, secure, and sustainable use of emerging technologies in modern computing environments. The workshop covered important themes including Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain, Quantum Computing, Cybersecurity, and Responsible AI practices. Expert lectures, technical discussions, and interactive sessions highlighted the societal impact, privacy concerns, ethical challenges, and governance aspects associated with advanced computing technologies. The workshop provided a platform for researchers, academicians, and students to discuss innovative solutions and best practices for the responsible integration of emerging technologies across various application domains.

10 days Training Program on “Big Data Analytics”

The training program on Big Data Analytics sponsored by Department of Science & Technology (Big Data Initiatives Division) of Government of India, was held at National Institute of Technology Srinagar from 10th March 2017 to 20th march 2017. The dates of registration were up to 8th March 2017 and 139 candidates registered for the program. The program schedule was followed strictly as per the guidelines provided by DST (Big Data Initiatives Division). The topics in the training program included Data Science basics, Basic and Advanced Data Models, Finding Structures in Data, Map reduce and Hadoop, Distributed and Parallel Computing using R, Analysing Data in Motion, Databases and Operationalizing Big Data, Few Big Data Case Studies followed by afternoon Lab  Sessions. Various committees were establishment for the program related activities which included participation by faculty and students.Lectures were delivered by various experts on the same domain from various Organizations and Educational Institutes.

Semicolon Coding Club

The semicolon coding club established by students of NIT Srinagar organizes workshops and training sessions on coding etc. for fellow students of the institute on regular basis. Like many other events HACKATHON, a workshop in Ethical hacking and cyber security was held in September 2018. Exordium 2017, a Code fest of NIT Srinagar was held by the club from 3rd November to 7th November 2017.

Techvaganza, The Annual Techfest

Techvaganza is a national level technical festival held annually at National institute of technology Srinagar in Srinagar. It is the first Techno-Management festival in region. With the initiation of Techvaganza in 2009, it has emerged as one of the biggest technical carnival among all. The main aim is to uplift the technical level of the region and provide a platform for technical tender buds to innovate, fabricate and gain experience in the field of technology and management.
