It gives me immense pleasure to introduce you to the National Institute of Technology Srinagar (J&K), a premier technical institute of national importance. Established in 1960 by the Government of India as one of the original eight Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs), NIT Srinagar has consistently upheld its legacy of academic excellence, cutting-edge research, and technological advancement.

Our institute offers a broad spectrum of academic programs, including B.Tech in eight engineering disciplines, thirteen M.Tech specializations, three M.Sc programs, as well as MBA, MTIEM, and Ph.D. programs. These programs are carefully designed to meet the evolving demands of industry and academia, ensuring that our students are well-equipped for both professional and research careers.

Admissions are conducted through highly competitive national and international examinations such as JEE, GATE, and DASA, bringing in some of the brightest and most motivated students from across the country and abroad.

NIT Srinagar has been making significant strides in national and global rankings. We are proud to be featured in the Times Higher Education (THE) 2024 World University Rankings (Overall Category) and the Asia University Rankings 2024. Additionally, we hold the distinction of being the second-highest ranked institute in Jammu and Kashmir as per the NIRF 2024 rankings. Our performance in the Graduate Placement Rate category (30.57/40) and the Graduate Outcomes category (a perfect 15/15) reaffirms our commitment to student success and industry relevance.
