TEQIP-III has improved the transition rate of all categories of students and also the non cognitive skills of such students. Internships have been conducted in highly reputed Public Sector units like BSNL, CSIR, CEPTA etc. NIT Srinagar has started coaching for GATE, for UG final year students and Skill Development Program, for the pre final year students under TEQIP-III. Independent Verification Audit teams have visited our Institute and emphasized the achievements of NIT Srinagar and noted that the differential performance of the students in GATE examination, has been incredible, compared to previous year’s performances. Financial support has been provided to the students for their placement related activities. Pre-placement talks were organized for the UG Students in order to improve the placement rate. IEEE, IET & ASME Students Chapter have been setup under TEQIP. Induction programs were conducted for the newly admitted student which helped them adapt faster to the Institute environment. Topical lectures delivered at our Institute by prominent speakers such as Prof. R.K. Agarwal (Former Chairman UPSC), Dr. R. K. Garg ( Ex Director NIT Arunanchal Pradesh) , Mr. Athar Aamir (IAS), Prof Sunil Kumar Pandey (Former Vice Chancellor, SLIET), Dr. Noe Alba-Baena (Professor UACJ, Mexico), Prof. Mohammed Kharrat (Professor, National Engineering School of Sfax, Tunisia ),Prof. Maher Dammak (Professor, National Engineering School of Sfax, Tunisia and Prof. Z Khan (Professor, Bournemouth University UK) among others. Our Institute has uploaded SAR for accreditation of our 05 Engineering Departments.
Students participated in various academic and co-curricular activities through TEQIP funds. Students at UG, PG & PhD levels have participated in various events like Go Kart Event, Hackathon & particularly one of the ideas in Smart India Hackathon got runner-up award. At Research Level, PhD students have participated in various National Events/ Conferences Like NFEST, CPIE, ISFT, CSI-20 etc. PG & PhD students have been provided grants under consumables head to carry out their research activities without any hindrance. Students at PhD, UG levels had been given reimbursement of the fee charges, for availing the research facilities in/outside the Institute. Five PhD Students, who were enrolled under TEQIP, currently avail the Research Assistantship through TEQIP funds.
